About

I am an Environmental Philosopher specialising in Phenomenology and Political Philosophy. My research focuses on the question of freedom, theories of sustainability and the intersection of philosophy of nature and embodiment.

I currently work as a Postdoctoral research assistant at the Chair for Environmental Philosophy and Ethics at Kiel University, where I have been teaching and researching since 2021. I finished my PhD at Kiel University in January 2025. Previously, I had a position as a research assistant at University of Hamburg (2019-2020). Research visit at University of Rostock in 2021. Additionally, I am a member of the junior research group "Structures of Givenness" at Greifswald University.

In addition to my academic research, I work as a freelance journalist for many years. As a journalist, I critically analyze and classify current social developments and fundamental questions, often with the help of philosophical theories and ideas.

  • 01/2026: A short radio piece on the notion of peace, in conversation with Prof. Christina Schües, was broadcasted on Deutschlandfunk Kultur, „Sein und Streit“.
  • My article „Relational freedom as sustainable freedom: On the natural embeddedness of human beings and its significance for the conception of freedom“ has been published in Ethics, Policy & Environment (2025).
  • My book review of „Landscape Aesthetics: Toward an Engaged Ecology, Alberto L. Siani“ has been published in The British Journal of Aesthetics (2025).
